Top 3 Ethical Codes to Consider
Although BAs should always adhere to all components of the Ethics Code when delivering ABA services, here are three ethical codes to keep in mind when providing behavior analytic supervision:
4.01 Compliance With Supervision Requirements
BCBAs should ensure they supervise an appropriate percentage of clients and supervisees, maintain an appropriate number of contacts with clients, and follow all BACB rules and regulations. They should also follow licensure, organizational, and funder regulations/policies.
4.02 Supervisory Competence
BCBAs should only provide supervision when they have the knowledge and skills to provide effective supervision and can continue to evaluate their own skills and improve/develop their own repertoires.
4.06 Providing Supervision and Training
Supervision and training procedures should always be evidence-based, individualized, and use positive reinforcement systems.
