CHAPTER 5:
ROLES AND RESPONSABILITIES
Roles and Responsibilities
A child’s therapy involves a team. Here’s a quick guide to who does what:
BCBAs
(Case Supervisors)
Run monthly progress reports and review with parents
Provide parent training and guidance
Create and manage programs, goals, and targets
Communicate with the office about any therapist or family concerns
ABA Therapists
(RBTs)
Work 1:1 with the child
Follow BCBA instructions and ask them questions about programs
Take data on every session, including supervised sessions
Enter billing daily in the provider portal
Do not give advice or recommendations to parents. BCBAs handle this
If unsure, contact your BCBA or Case Manager
Case Managers
Provide welcome emails, logins, and onboarding support
Handle insurance, billing, and schedule questions
Be your point of contact for any work-related concerns
Notify if you are sick, unable to cover sessions, or leaving a case
Notify case managers if you would be out sick or not able to fill your schedule for more than one session.
Notify case managers if you need to leave a case and must give 2 weeks' notice
